Dr. Seuss Week

#1 had a great school week this week. Lee and I were both amazed at how he has progressed! I think getting closer to those half birthdays can really make a difference for young guys.

We started subtraction this week and he flew through the lessons. I think taking our time on the previous lessons paid off. He is also making good progress on his spelling lessons. This week he started writing a story about the ninja from Ninjago. I am really encouraging him to write more, even when he doesn't know how to spell all the words.

We read Dr. Seuss books and did copywork to go along with the books from Montessori Tidbits. #1 was familiar with The Cat in the Hat and Green Eggs and Ham, but Oh, the Places You'll Go and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish were new to him. He enjoyed reading the books much more than he enjoys doing his reading text book and sight words. Hopefully he can continue to progress and we can rely on the textbook and flash cards less and less!
