Super Food for the Super Bowl

My friend Tiffany at Life is Glamorous and Fabulous is hosting a link up to share your Super Bowl party recipes and ideas! She gave me the link last year for the brownies that were such a hit, so you know she knows how to entertain!

The last two years we've had parties at church, but this year we are having small parties in the homes of the Sunday School teachers. I teach a ladies class, and believe it or not, they aren't the biggest football fans! So we added a few to the invitation list, and plan to have a very family friendly party. In fact, there may not be much football watching going on!

We are expecting at least a foot of snow Friday through Saturday, so add snow panic to Super Bowl party planning and you get extremely busy grocery stores! Lee braved the crowd and got everything on the list. Here's my game plan:
  • strawberry lemonade
  • spinach dip in a bread bowl and veggies
  • pork bbq sliders (using this recipe)
  • onion strings from the Pioneer Woman
  • hot curried fruit (like this from Paula Deen)
  • and of course, the mint brownies again
We'll have plenty of the kid friendly food too- chips, pretzels, hotdogs, apple sauce, and cookies.

I'm not sure if we're going to have a Saints crowd or a Colts crowd, but at least the food will be good! For a long list of people who did pick a winner (like Imagination Mover Scott, Bill O'Reilly, Pat Robertson, Florance Henderson, and Joan Jett) check out this article at ESPN!

  1. Apple cider vinegar in the BBQ pork sliders...sounds delicious! I have not seen hot curried fruit before. I'll have to try it! I hope you guys have a fun party and thank you for these great recipes!!

  3. I use Paula Deen's recipe for lemonade- gallon of water, two cups sugar, and two cups lemon juice. I put about a cup of strawberries in the little food processor and chop them up. Then just pour them in. If you make it a couple hours before you serve it, the strawberry flavor is stronger!
